EcoVadis’ globally trusted ESG performance indicator
Established in Paris in 2007, EcoVadis evaluates 150,000 companies from 180 countries annually. By cementing its high evaluation credibility, it has become one of the top rating agencies among 600 global evaluation institutions. EcoVadis’ sustainability assessment covers four areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and supply chain. Its medals range from Platinum (top 1%) to Gold (top 5%), Silver (top 15%), and Bronze (top 35%). In the agency’s 2025 evaluation, LG Display was highly praised for clarifying its ESG policies and goals, as well as for its efforts in eco-friendly technology innovation, strengthening supplier capabilities, and enhancing its compliance management system – all of which led to the company obtaining a Platinum medal.
As a globally recognized indicator, EcoVadis’ evaluation is all the more significant because it is actively used by many leading global companies to assess the ESG management performance of their vendors. With its Platinum status, LG Display is expected to actively respond to the demands of key stakeholders and strengthen its competitiveness in the global market.
LG Display’s AA rating from MSCI for four years running
LG Display has consistently gained recognition for its ESG management performance from other global ESG rating agencies, including Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) and the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI). MSCI, a leading U.S. finance firm, provides global investors with stock, bond, and hedge fund-related indices along with portfolio analysis tools. Based on companies’ sustainability and business reports, MSCI evaluates their ESG performance and categorizes them into seven levels from AAA to CCC.
Last year, LG Display not only received an AA rating from MSCI for four consecutive years, starting from 2021, but it also earned recognition for a multifaceted approach to ESG management from the highly trusted DJSI – according to its evaluation, LG Display was top-ranked in Korea’s IT components sector while being included in the Asia-Pacific Index for two consecutive years.
LG Display has therefore solidified its position as a global sustainability leader, having been recognized once again for its ESG management performance through objective global indicators.
