Experience Korea’s four seasons and folktales via Transparent OLED
LG Display collaborated with the Cultural Heritage Administration and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation to showcase the “Four Seasons” Transparent OLED media façade at the Incheon Airport Tourist Center, which expresses Korea’s cultural heritage through famous Korean folktales based on the four seasons. This piece features a total of 18 Transparent OLED displays, resembling a gigantic video wall. Its sharp image quality vividly conveys the delicate patterns and colorful hues of Korean traditional folktales while also creating a comfortable openness thanks to its high transparency.
To complete the space, a total of 14 Transparent OLED displays have been attached to the pillars and the walls inside the Tourist Center, which are being utilized to showcase various information such as local times and global weather conditions as well as welcome messages and enchanting videos showing off the endless beauty of Korean nature.
A representative from the Cultural Heritage Administration praised the technology, saying, “In collaboration with LG Display, we successfully created a welcoming space for tourists that not only offered a place to rest, but also provided useful information on Korea’s distinctive cultural heritage and popular travel destinations. In addition, LG Display’s Transparent OLED displays that provide the most high-tech way of delivering information to the façade, which effectively caught the attention of travelers by adding a unique, Korea-inspired ambiance to the space.”
