Amidst the abundance of new tech, trends and innovations showcased at this year’s event, it was OLED that captivated the show yet again with its mindblowing sizes, form factors and enhanced product lineups which are more than ready to provide the ultimate user experience. These days, it seems all people want to talk about is OLED – but why?

OLED, Europe’s go-to TV tech
Europe – the largest TV market – in particular is embracing OLED, as the region accounts for around 40% of worldwide OLED TV sales. According to Omdia, the sales of OLED TVs within Europe reached 50.3% of the European TV market (referring to TVs over $1,500) in the second quarter of 2022.
The German Consumer Electronics Association (GFU), the organizer behind the IFA, recently crowned OLED the winner of the German TV market (gewinner im deutschen TV-Markt), at a time when many influential European consumer media outlets are praising the superior technology of OLED in their comprehensive product reviews. For instance, after testing 236 TVs, Swedish consumer magazine Rad & Ron placed the top two OLED models on top of the list, remarking how the two are “followed by a number of LG models which also receive very high and consistent marks for their picture and sound quality.”
OLED – the Star of IFA 2022
At IFA, LG Display‘s latest exceptional EX Technology turned heads and attracted large crowds through a colorful portfolio of OLED products, ranging from the world’s largest OLED TV to ingenious displays that curve and flatten on command.
Android Authority recognized the 97-inch OLED as one of the highlights of this year’s IFA, commenting that “this is a humongous TV with the added contrast, local black level, and improved viewing angles,” while TechRadar selected the LG OLED FLEX as the Best TV at IFA 2022, praising the product’s “clever design that makes the most of what OLED can do, geared towards making the ultimate gaming TV.”
