Company’s technology leadership recognized once again in China
LG Display, a leading innovator of display technology, announced today that its 84-inch ULTRA HD TV panel has received the “Best Picture Quality Technology Award” at the 9th annual China Digital TV Development Forum. The award, which follows an “Innovation Technology Award” last year for LG Display’s FPR 3D panel technology, once again reaffirms the company’s technology leadership in China.
LG Display’s 84-inch ULTRA HD TV panel features four times the resolution of Full HD at 3840×2160 or 8 million pixels. The display utilizes IPS, the company’s flagship wide viewing angle technology, as well as FPR 3D enabling viewers to experience more life-like, immersive 3D images. The company’s advanced ULTRA HD TV technology will play a leading role in the new ULTRA HD TV market which is expected to grow rapidly from 980,000 panel shipments in 2013 to 15 million in 2017 according to Display Search.
To win the “Best Picture Quality Technology Award,” LG Display’s ULTRA HD TV panel received superior scores and evaluation in the areas of viewing angle, color accuracy, and ULTRA HD resolution application. Performance testing of the panel was conducted by the Advanced Digital TV Test Center which operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT).
“This award confirms the superiority of LG Display’s ULTRA HD TV technology in one of the world’s most exciting and fastest growing TV markets,” said Jeong-Han Lee, Vice President of LG Display’s Promotion Division. “Based on our differentiated and unrivalled technology, LG Display will continue to lead and forge new growth avenues for the premium TV sector globally as well as in China.”
