A major highlight of IMID 2024 was the newly established ‘Korean Display of the Year’ award for numerous information display technologies. IMID’s committee of display experts awarded LG Display’s large-sized OLED innovation, ‘META Technology 2.0,’ which was applied to both its TV and gaming OLED panels, with this prestigious honor in the panel category.

‘META Technology 2.0’ integrates a Micro Lens Array Plus (MLA+) with an astounding 424 billion ultra-fine lens patterns, along with the ‘META Multi Booster’ brightness optimization algorithm and the ‘Detail Enhancer’ image quality booster. These innovations achieved a dazzling 3,000 nits (1 nit is the brightness produced by a single candle) of peak brightness, making it the brightest OLED TV panel in the market today. With colors and brightness so vivid and lifelike, this technology was praised for pushing the boundaries of OLED picture quality to new heights.

Visitors had the opportunity to explore LG Display’s special exhibition booth, where they could experience firsthand the innovative OLED technologies that earned the ‘Korean Display of the Year’ award. Visitors were highly impressed with LG Display’s lineup which pushed the boundaries of visual quality. Standout displays included the 83-inch OLED TV panel, delivering an unmatched immersive experience, the 27-inch 480Hz QHD gaming OLED panel, boasting the first ultra-high refresh rate in OLED for the ultimate gaming environment, and the 39-inch ultra-wide gaming OLED panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio and an 800R curvature. LG Display also showcased the ATO and LTPS LCD optimized for future automobiles, and the ultra-bright OLEDoS panels for VR and smartwatches, boasting vivid picture quality.
