During the opening ceremony of IMID 2023, Byung-koo Kim, Head of Automotive Business Group at LG Display, took the stage to discuss the company’s automotive displays. LG Display’s automotive OLED technology is being incorporated into automobiles developed and produced by nine premium car brands in Europe, North America, and Korea. Through these efforts, the goal is to increase LG Display’s market share (based on revenue) in the premium automotive display market to over 50% by 2026.

LG Display’s ‘Beyond TV’ zone underscored its commitment to “Natural Reality.” This philosophy shines through the latest ‘META Technology’ which not only offer unparalleled natural image quality but also redefine gameplay through gaming monitors that promise immersive experiences that fully eclipse the experience delivered by conventional TVs.
By integrating Micro Lens Array (MLA) technology to maximize the light emission from the OLED panels via 4.24 billion micro lenses, META Technology offers 60% brighter images, a 30% wider viewing angle, and more accurate colors on a 77-inch panel.
The META Booster algorithm is another key component of META tech, which meticulously analyzes each video to optimize performance and color expression for every scene. The outcome is a level of HDR expression that enriches the viewing experience through perfect blacks and vivid colors.
The company’s Gaming OLED delivers an incredibly immersive experience thanks to OLED’s iconic deep black expression.
Its rapid response time of 0.03ms combines with a 240Hz high refresh rate and 13,000 VESA Clear MR certification to guarantee the most stellar gaming performance, which is why Gamers’ anticipation is at an all-time high.

Moreover, by consuming 60% less power and weighing 85% lighter than LCDs, it’s being called the optimal choice for the electric vehicles of the future.
In the new era of flexible displays, the ‘18-inch Rollable Display’ is leading the way. Doubling as a speaker when not in use, this display can be customed to different environments according to the user’s needs.
On the left, the Light Field Display delivers a complete parallax effect that enables 3D content viewing without 3D glasses or HMDs. On the right, the ultra-compact OLEDoS packs a high pixel density of 3,500 PPI and brightness of 7,000 nits into a 0.42-inch display area, achieving sharp and natural picture quality without the “screen door effect” to enable an immersive AR/VR experience.
