LG Display Drives Company-wide AX Innovation to Create
Differentiated Customer Value

AI technology is no longer the domain of developers alone. As AI rapidly permeates everyday life, it has become a tool accessible to everyone. Embracing this change, LG Display is accelerating its AI Transformation (AX) initiative—empowering all employees to use AI as a driver of workplace innovation. Employees across the company are actively learning AI and applying it to solve real business challenges. This bottom-up approach not only enhances customer experience but also fosters a culture where “every employee is an AI practitioner.”

AI Solutions from Non-Developers: Turning Ideas into Tangible Results

This cultural shift has already produced tangible outcomes. At the recent ‘LG Software Developer Conference 2025’ held at LG Science Park, a three-member team from LG Display—composed entirely of non-developers—won the Grand Prize in the Prompthon competition.

The Prompt-thon—a combination of “prompt” and “hackathon”—is a competition where participants design generative AI prompts and develop practical solutions for real-world business use cases. The LG Display team adopted a Vibe Coding approach, improving AI-generated code based on test results and feedback rather than writing it directly. Their victory, achieved among mostly developer-led teams, demonstrates that even employees without coding experience can create innovative, AI-driven solutions. It also underscores AI’s potential to transform creative ideas into real business value—reinforcing LG Display’s vision of practical, organization-wide AI adoption.

“JuViet”: A Tailored Learning App for Overseas Employees in Vietnam

The winning solution, called “JuViet,” is a customized Vietnamese language learning application designed for LG Display’s expatriate employees in Vietnam. The name combines “Ju” (meaning expatriate or weekly) and “Viet” (referring to Vietnam), symbolizing a program where expatriates learn one practical Vietnamese expression each week. The team leveraged AI to build the application’s functions and gathered insights directly from expatriates and local staff to identify real pain points. The biggest challenge for employees stationed in Vietnam was language barriers—Vietnamese features six tones and complex pronunciation, making basic communication difficult.

To address this, the team designed a personalized learning experience tailored to each user’s proficiency and situation. “JuViet” allows learners to build confidence through small, continuous achievements while mastering expressions they can immediately use in their work and daily life. The content is designed around real communication needs, helping expatriates foster genuine and trusting relationships with local colleagues. “We wanted to prove that with just an idea and determination, even non-developers can build a solution that truly addresses customer pain points,” said the LG Display team.

Currently in the prototype stage, “JuViet” is being refined with enhanced security and infrastructure for stable operation. The team is also exploring ways to expand its learning content and adapt the solution for other global offices—supporting LG Display’s broader goal of strengthening employee capabilities through AI-driven learning.

This case exemplifies how AI serves not just as a technology, but as a catalyst for company-wide innovation and customer value creation at LG Display. Moving forward, the company will continue to promote its AX initiative, enabling employees to identify and solve problems proactively, meet customer needs more effectively, and create differentiated value through the power of AI.
