[SID 2025] Zone 02. Driving the future

Under the theme of “Shaping the Future,” LG Display’s SID Display Week 2025 booth features three zones – “Unrivaled OLED,” “Driving the Future,” and Sustainable Innovation” – showcasing a diverse lineup of advanced technologies that will help shape the future of display innovations.

In the second of these zones, “Driving the Future,” LG Display is introducing the world’s best automotive display solutions, showcasing innovations designed to expand business opportunities through cuttingedge technology. Aligned with the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) trend, LG Display has presented a wide range of form factors – including ultra-large, Stretchable, and Slidable displays – optimized for future mobility.

12” Stretchable Micro LED

LG Display’s 12-inch Stretchable Micro LED incorporates LG Display’s Stretchable technology, which allows the panel to expand up to 50% while maintaining high resolution and full RGB color. Replacing traditional center console buttons, this display stretches in response to touch, transforming into a tactile interface and providing both aesthetic sophistication and ease of control during driving.

57” Pillar-to-Pillar (Oxide LCD)

This 57-inch Pillar-to-Pillar (P2P) is the world’s first automotive P2P display based on Oxide LCD. P2P refers to a large screen that spans across the entire space between the left and right A-pillars of a vehicle. It provides drivers with clear, intuitive information at a glance and integrates LG Display’s inTOUCH technology for seamless touch performance – even on a large screen. In addition, it is designed to operate flawlessly in extreme environments ranging from minus 40 Celsius to a scorching 85 Celsius, ensuring the essential reliability and durability required for automotive displays.

18” Slidable OLED

This 18-inch Slidable OLED maximizes the flexibility of P-OLED technology. The screen remains hidden when not in use and smoothly slides out when needed, optimizing in-vehicle space. Passengers can enjoy various forms of content – including sports and movies – or conduct video calls on the go.

12.8” Control Pad

As in-vehicle infotainment grows more sophisticated, passengers need more intuitive control interfaces. Positioned in the center of the rear seats, this 12.8-inch P-OLED Control Pad offers an elegant, spaceefficient solution. The P-OLED panel enables a slim, flexible design with vivid picture quality, delivering a seamless user experience without compromising interior aesthetics.

55” Transparent OLED

LG Display’s 55-inch Transparent OLED offers 45% transparency, allowing it to function simultaneously as a car window and display. It delivers vivid picture quality without obstructing the view of the outside, providing passengers with real-time information.

29” LTPS LCD

When autonomous driving becomes mainstream, automotive displays will no longer be limited to a vehicle’s interior. LG Display’s 29-inch LTPS LCD is mounted on the exterior, facilitating communication between pedestrians and vehicles, as well as between vehicles. With ultra-high brightness of 5,000 nits, the display remains clearly visible outdoors. Additionally, the company’s proprietary M+ pixel structure delivers lower power consumption compared to a conventional RGB structure, ensuring both efficiency and visibility.

47.8” Pillar to Pillar (LTPS LCD)

This 47.8-inch LTPS LCD delivers clear visuals for both the driver and passengers. Most notably, Switchable Privacy Mode (SPM) viewing angle control technology has been applied to help the driver stay focused on the road. SPM, which LG Display was the first in the industry to commercialize, allows the front passenger to watch movies or play games on the display in front of them even as the content they are enjoying remains invisible from the driver’s seat.

22” Micro LED

This 22-inch Micro LED display utilizes AM Micro LED technology for exceptional brightness and picture quality. As a self-emissive display, each pixel lights up independently, delivering superior contrast and color reproduction. The Zero Bezel design supports modular configurations in various sizes, making it highly adaptable for large-sized applications – including future mobility displays.
