[SID 2025] Zone 01. Unrivaled OLED

Under the theme of “Shaping the Future,” LG Display’s SID Display Week 2025 booth features three zones – “Unrivaled OLED,” “Driving the Future,” and “Sustainable Innovation” – showcasing a diverse lineup of advanced technologies that will help shape the future of display innovations.

In the first of these zones, “Unrivaled OLED,” LG Display is showcasing the evolution of large-sized OLEDs and highlighting the excellence of its fourth-generation OLED technology. Centered around ultra-high brightness, precise color reproduction, and human-friendly innovation, the zone demonstrates how LG Display has continued to push boundaries to accelerate the mainstream adoption of OLED.

83” 4th-Generation OLED

To achieve Natural Reality, LG Display has redefined the limits of OLED innovation. Its fourth-generation OLED features a Primary RGB Tandem structure that stacks individual RGB layers, setting a new standard for premium displays. 33% brighter than the previous generation and optimized for the AI TV era, it is the industry’s first-ever OLED display technology to achieve a maximum brightness as high as 4,000 nits (1 nit is the brightness produced by a candle). In addition, with the advantage of ultra-low reflection technology, LG Display’s fourth-generation OLED blocks 99% of internal and external light reflections, realizing perfect blacks just like in a movie theater with the lights off even in a midday living room setting (500 lux).

13” Hybrid Tandem OLED

LG Display’s blue phosphorescent OLED panelharnesses the company’s latest OLED breakthrough. It features a hybrid two-stack Tandem OLED structure with blue phosphorescence in the upper stack and blue fluorescence in the lower stack. This innovative structure combines the stability of fluorescent materials with the power efficiency of phosphorescent materials, resulting in approximately 15% lower power consumption while maintaining a similar level of stability to existing OLED panels. In collaboration with UDC, LG Display recently became the first in the world to successfully verify the performance of blue phosphorescent OLED panels on a mass production line. The company’s blue phosphorescent OLED technology being showcased at SID Display Week 2025 is aimed at small and medium-sized IT panels such as smartphones and tablets. As more and more products require high definition and high efficiency, such as AI PCs and AR/VR devices, the application of blue phosphorescence technology is expected to expand rapidly.

27” 4th-Generation Gaming OLED

Compared to third-generation Gaming OLED, LG Display’s 27-inch Gaming OLED featuring Primary RGB Tandem technology enhances HDR(High Dynamic Range) brightness to 1,500 nits and expands *DCI color gamut to 99.5%. It has also received Perfect Black certification from UL Solutions, ensuring deeper blacks and richer color expression. With this advancement, LG Display is strengthening its competitive edge in the gaming market by delivering displays tailored for top-tier gaming performance.

45” 5K2K 21:9 DFR Gaming OLED & 31.5” 4K 16:9 DFR Gaming OLED

LG Display’s newly developed 45-inch 5K2K 21:9 Gaming OLED delivers overwhelming immersion through its large screen and ultra-wide ratio (21:9). With 1,300 nits of peak brightness and exceptional contrast, it ensures stunning visuals. It also incorporates LG Display’s proprietary Dynamic Frequency & Resolution (DFR) technology, which enables adaptive switching between high refresh rate and high resolution modes. When playing fast-paced games, high refresh rate mode allows users to enjoy smooth gameplay at up to 330Hz, while high resolution mode enables ultra-detailed 5K graphics – ideal for visually rich content.

Also equipped with DFR is LG Display’s 31.5-inch 4K 16:9 Gaming OLED, currently in mass production. It delivers high brightness, a wide color gamut, and refresh rates of up to 480Hz for precision in fast-paced gameplay. It also supports a 4K mode at 240Hz, offering unmatched versatility for gamers.

77” Transparent OLED

LG Display is also demonstrating the world’s first 77-inch Transparent OLED with 4K resolution, setting a new standard for large-sized transparent displays. Unlike conventional transparent displays, this OLED-based solution delivers enhanced clarity and rich visuals. With this 77-inch 4K Transparent OLED, LG Display is highlighting the vast potential of its technology in signage, information displays, and beyond – offering users a revolutionary visual experience while redefining spatial design.
