The 2024 Guggenheim YCC Party: Embrace the Digital Wonderland with Transparent OLED

In 2022, during the YCC (Young Collectors Council) Party, the Guggenheim Museum and LG unveiled the “LG Guggenheim Art and Technology Initiative,” a collaborative effort spanning five years. This initiative aims to identify and foster artists who utilize technology as their artistic medium. At the event, the 2024 Artist Collaboration with Rachel Rossin, showcased activation across various LG Technology captivating guests and raising anticipation for the innovative experiences that will emerge from the fusion of technology and art in the near future.

This concept was inspired by the artist Rachel Rossin, who is renowned for her ability to connect painterly space with virtual realities, thereby creating a fourth-dimensional experience.

Following the success of the previous year, the expansive Transparent OLED artwork, varied in sizes of 30inch, 55inch and 77inch, stole the spotlight once more at the event. Guests, dressed to impress in their finest digital glam attire, adorned themselves by striking poses against the mesmerizing backdrop of the Artist Collaboration with Rachel Rossin.

At the party venue, The Muses performed at the DJ station, igniting the atmosphere as the night progressed. Particularly, guests enjoyed the party even more enthusiastically on the newly installed dance floor this year. In such an electrifying ambiance, the Transparent OLED display added to the excitement, illuminating the surroundings. Rachel Rossin’s artwork flowed on the three 83-inch Transparent OLED displays.

The pinnacle of this year’s YCC Party was the celebratory toast honoring the 2024 LG Guggenheim Award recipient, Shu Lea Cheang, the LG Guggenheim Award recognizing artists who showcase groundbreaking artworks at the intersection of technology and art.

“The YCC plays an essential role in furthering the work of emerging, contemporary artists. The work of the YCC coupled with the LG Guggenheim Art and Technology Initiative allows the Guggenheim to reflect a broader spectrum of artistic voices. “said Naomi Beckwith, the Guggenheim’s Deputy Director.

Justin Jin, Head of Large Display Promotion Division for LG Display added, “It’s a challenge for us to bring a new party experience to you, the most important supporters of the Guggenheim and its mission, every year, however, we’ve done it again this year, combining LG’s unique Transparent OLEDs with the stunning artwork of Rachel Rosin to create the ultimate YCC Party experience.”
