LG Display, a leading manufacturer of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display, announced today that its ‘Sound Bar TV’ and ‘Swing All in One PC’ won awards for its design at the iF Design Awards 2012. The winning entries follow upon the company’s win last year for Blade Monitor.
“It is a special honor to be recognized at the iF Design Awards 2012 for the second consecutive year,” remarked Mr. Dong Won Choi, Director of the IT Product Planning Division of LG Display. “the Sound Bar TV and the Swing All in One PC showcase the very best of LG Display’s leadership in design differentiation as well as commitment to technical innovation and price competitiveness.”
2012 Award Winners and Clear Borderless Technology
Emphasizing the theme “Simple and Elegant,” LG Display applies Clear Borderless technology to the award winning ‘Sound Bar TV’ and ‘Swing All in One PC’, innovatively minimizing the border between screen and frame.
‘Sound Bar TV’, the fifth product from LG Display’s Art TV series, features a distinct look with a thin stand composed of slimmer and lighter materials than existing products. Speakers can be attached or removed from the base depending on one’s preference.
The sleek ‘Swing All in One PC’ was developed following suggestions from LG Display customers and emphasizes a slim look by arranging PC components under the company’s thin and simple Blade Monitor which won an iF product design award in 2011.
A Business Model Ensuring Competitiveness in Design, Technology and Price
This year’s winning products as well as Blade Monitor in 2011 are the result of LG Display’s unique business model which focuses on strengthening the company’s customer base and price competitiveness via strategic partnerships with industry front and rear end channels. With this business model, both module and set are able to be produced collectively in one factory through original equipment manufacturers (OEM) or original development manufacturing (ODM) depending on the needs of the company’s customers. The result is a host of technically advanced products featuring differentiated designs and price competitiveness.
